Talit
In depth study,
Exodus 20:8 “Remember the sabbath day, to set it apart ( holy).“
How do you remember and keep it set apart (holy)?
Numbers 15:37-40; 40 That ye may remember, and do all my commandments, and be set apart (holy) unto your Elohim. (God)
Psalm 61:4 I will abide in thy tabernacle forever: I will trust in the covert of thy wings.
YHWH (GOD) has given this to help us not only to be set apart (holy), but wearing it is an opening to witnessing.
Yahushua in Mark 5:41 “Rise to My talit” some have questioned this interpretation. So, let’s investigate; Talitha qumi are Chaldeen words. Follow the Strongs concordance; Talitha in Greek is 5008 (young girl or damsel), both are wrong. Damsel in Greek is (3813 pais) not talitha. The reference which refers you to Chaldeen (2924 taleh, overthrow) comp, 2922 tala, covering of the lamb, with a sense of protection.
Look in your concordance in Greek, at damsel, girl, little, nothing even comes close to talitha.
Yahushua said “rise to My lambs covering; rise to My protection, rise to My talit” any of these would be closer than rise damsel.
Psalms 17:8 Keep me as the apple of Thine eye; hide me under the shadow of Thy wings.
Psalms 91:4 He shall cover thee with His feathers, and His wings shalt thou trust His truth shall be my shield and buckler.
The word wings, in both Psalms, Strong’s 3671 & 3670, kanaph; means quarter of a garment, wing fringe, to project laterally.
Mark 6:56 “border of his garment” border Strong’s 2899 (Kraspedon) in the Greek meaning; margin, fringe or tassel (Tzittzit of his talit).
Do you still have any doubt that this is a garment of esteem (glory)?
- Numbers 23 & 24: Balak orders Balaam to curse Israel, and high above the plane Balaam sees all the tribes standing in front of their tents, for the morning prayer, in their talits. (tabernacles, little tents)
24:2 And Balaam lifted up his eyes, and he saw Israel abiding in his tents according to their tribes; and the Spirit of Elohim (God) came upon him.
24:5 How goodly are thy tents, O Jacob and thy tabernacles, O Israel!
Tabernacles and tents both plural. He saw them with their talits saying morning prayers, and was so moved he blessed them, instead of cursing them.
We must read our Scriptures (bibles) in depth, understand Israel’s traditions, and take back blessings that have been stolen by misinterpretation. There is much more evidence in both old and new covenants, now that you know what to look for.
Study the Bible! Let the Holy Spirit guide you.
Wear your talit on the sabbath, when you pray, when you read scripture, use it as another instrument for healing as you use oil and laying on of the hands.
Elohim gave the talit to all, let all be taught and understand.
Blue thread or Shamash, meaning Servant, is wrapped around the other strands 7,8,11 and 13 times with double knots in-between. 7+8=15= Hebrew letters yod & hey, the first two letters of Elohim’s name. 11= vav & hey last two letters. Eleven = Echad=
YHWH Echad = “ELOHIM is One” MARK 12:29
